dahlia..

Been editing a wedding this week and this image made me smile.. This year I seem to have missed Dahlias - there were a few in my mums garden but not enough for my normal september bouquets..

This mans garden though had a stirling crop - It made me think of Oli's Grandad.. We must get to his alpoment next year.. he is the 2012 Dahlia grower of the year and I'd love to see all his work lined up in their uniformed glory. They also make me think of us and our wedding. The vicar said in his sermon that they will always represent our wedding - and he was right they really do.

Right back to work!

  1. That is such a beautiful picture - my dahlias were pretty pants this year...I grew a few on the allotment, but not many.

I need to plan 'big' I think for next year.

    1. I need to start! Granddads given me some before and I've killed them so I need to pluck up the courage and ask for more! I like you're thinking on the 'big" though..

  3. I had big plans for roses next year... after seeing this gorgeous photo I'm adding dahlia's to the mix. My usual 'varied shades of green' garden is long overdue some colour x

    1. I'm adding roses in next year too - it's time to add a little colour and try and find my green fingers!

  4. Oh gosh, so completely beautiful! I wish I could grow such pretty flowers, our naughty puppy enjoys digging plants up far too much though! <3 xo

  5. Gorgeous, gorgeous photo. I had only dahlia's for V's Naming day, and like you for your wedding, I totally associate them with that beautiful day. I don't have a garden so end up pestering our local florist whenever they are in season!
