social failings..

I met the loveliest couple at the wedding I was working on this weekend and we were talking about the pressure of keeping up with work and social media - and without question I am failing.

Apparently I should be tweeting 5 times and day, doing a Facebook post and a blog post once a day.. whoops! Currently I am managing one very uninspiring blog post a week and tweeting and facebooking very rarely.. I even stopped doing so many instagram images.. I just don't know how people do it!

Maybe I just don't know what to blog about on here anymore since I've started my photography..? What do people like about my blog? Recipes, style, dave, photography, the farm, my family or just me and my life..? blur..

For now here are some photos of me for one of our clients Asha. She needed some images taken and I ended up modelling for it myself as there wasn't time to find anyone else. The boy and I caught the last light one evening and I've discovered that I should wear hats more often! Feel a bit weird putting myself on here but hey ho..

  1. Oh Tori do post more often! I miss you!. That top photograph is stunning... very kinfolk in the style. And yes you do suit a hat. Lou x (p.s if you need sometime to ghost tweet fb for you..I'd love to!) xx

  2. Wow, Tori! You look stunning. I've been exactly the same with my blog etc - work just gets in the way, doesn't it! I don't think you should feel too much pressure to keep up with the recommended level of activity - we all love hearing from you whenever you manage to post. Xx

  4. Whatever you want to post, whenever you want to post it, I'll read it :) and don't worry about the social media bit, not that I'm an expert and I'm sure it would be helpful but I reckon getting your first seasons wedding work done and making your couples happy is the most important thing right now. They probably dont mind how often you tweet ;)

  6. I kind of want to jump in with a comment because like you I have a blog. fb, twitter account etc and a newish, smallish (well, mine is!) business. I don't know you in real life, but I have connections to your part of the world, so the norfolk link is nice for me. But I suppose I am interested in the story/life behind another woman starting her own business - what ever subjects that embraces.Your gorgeous pics are always a treat but it is interesting seeing how another woman develops a business and lives her life in the mean time. The lovely thing about blogs is each one is unique and I don't think you should feel any pressure to fulfill a strict schedule, just do what you enjoy and if you are having fun doing it, that will come across? The quickest way to lose your mojo is to blog out of a relentless sense of duty I think. Just keep blogging in the way that feels authentically you, stuff the 'rules', your blog is lovely!:)

  8. I read that Tweets have a lifespan of one hour, which has absolutely terrified me! I am rubbish at it.

Love the pics. Your blog is ace however frequently or not you choose to post.

  9. i'm not much an expert on social media. my facebook account is barely active. i do love my blog, but i'm currently experiencing some kind of low regarding creativity. there are days when ideas keep flooding in and i want to share them with the readers, but then again there are moments where i just don't feel it. i'd rather post something good once a week, than having to force myself to produce something just so that i can post every day. your photography is what got me interested and i like seeing little bits and pieces of your daily life. you live in a part of the world that i only know form books and movies, so i'm always curious to see that part through your lens.

  10. i understand when your job realies on social media that you should be out there as people are fickle...but really-there is more to life than that.i think if you feel behind in it-then the fun and spontaneity goes and they feel forced and planned.
i love your posts though-whenever they come-why-not sure-think it is the down to earth country living ..oh and the hats!

  11. I know what you mean about all the social media. I love twitter as I tend to use it most when I'm waiting for something or on public transport, but I really struggle with FB and blogging. I recently got an itouch so I can increase my blogging and FB which so far is working but it is so time consuming. I just don't know when some of the bloggers find time to do everything, all I can guess is they don't work full time? I love Dave and any lifestyle/about your life posts....good luck finding the balance and if you have any tips, please share!

  12. i love your blog for the beautiful photographs and lifestyle posts - but originally found it when i saw your amazing wedding pics somewhere in blog land! i think it's nice to be natural in blogs, rather than forcing a post because it's been a few days, although i've been guilty of that in the past for sure! i really don't know how people manage a job, blogging every day, facebook etc... seems impossible to me! loving these photos by the way!

  14. I'm glad that you were the model. You're so beautiful and that dress is going to haunt my shopping dreams. I think that everyone has different levels of reaching out through social media. Don't stress. The quality is what's most important and you have that!

  16. Your photos are beautiful and I enjoy your blog LOTS! Please continue to post your lovely photography, even if you don't put any words, a picture can say it all. The fact that you don't post everyday means you have an actual life outside of all this social media computer crazy world - and that's a good thing! Don't be disheartened, you are very good at what you do, take pride in your work and use your blog to show it all off! P.S. I miss the instagrams. Barberella Xxx

  17. Good Lord, a blog post once a day? I barely manage once a week! I love your blog as it is - your photos are beautiful, and it's a great read. Social media rules are nuts!

  18. Wow, amazing. I love those pictures and you are stunnning - amazing light. I feel the same about social media. I started a twitter account but still dont' really 'get' it! I also think there are lots of people whose income is based on social media interaction, so it makes sense for it to be a full-time job with daily interactions. For the rest of us, I think it's more of a hobby and we can just blog when we like!
