home

home - made more magical by ranunculus.

home's been somewhat of a base recently. a place where we may make a cup of tea and maybe some toast, sleep and then leave. no weekends, no evenings and barely any mornings. living out of suitcases and ignoring the dirt and dust.

we now have home back and it's so good. office is done and we've been staying put for a couple of weeks. the house is super clean and our suitcase tidied away.

have a lovely weekend x

evening light

Magical evening light last night.. So lovely seeing things come to life - lime green buds of leaves unfurling more and more everyday. Our blossom tree never really came to life this year - but the brown leaves glowed like autumn as the sun set.

I find it all so fascinating.

New York

So here finally are my camera photos. I have to confess.. I didn't take that many. I'm going to do a phone post as well but for now..

Here's a slightly tired Oli on our first day in NYC. We headed to the city for a cold/freezing stroll around central park, followed by a sweet stop off at momofuku milk bar and an afternoon in the MoMa - where we enjoyed too much wine and cheese and left without seeing as much of the art as we would of liked! It shuts earlier than we thought!  Hey ho!

So this was our hood and this is my beautiful Friend who let us stay in her home whilst we were in New York - she is the most amazing, inspiring person so please go take a look at her amazing heart parts here. This was us on our way for a manicure in China Town - first time for me! We were so lucky with the weather most of the time, clear blue skies with minus temperatures. Luckily the snow didn't fall and we only had one really wet day.

We stayed in soho and all of us feel well and truely in love with it. We were staying on Elizabeth and tried so hard to eat our way around the area. I think some days we stopped of at 4 different places - crazy! We also treated ourselves to one night here at the Nolitan. It was an amazing hotel and I was so excited that for the first time in my life I could watch the Oscars all the way through and not at silly o clock! Our view from our room was amazing and the staff were lovely. I'd recommend staying there to anyone..

Spent some time in Chelsea - went to the Market and chilled at High Line.. February doesn't make the best out of the High Line but it was still right up our street. Loved the structure, textures and style of the place.. well worth a trip! Also we all loved Chelsea Market. We got so wet and went there as something under cover to do.. the rain then stopped and it was such an amazing area to walk around. We ended up at a friends bar and got hammered on Tequila.. I honestly don't think I'll be able to drink it again! And I am a BIG Margarita fan! Hey ho..

I love this city. I would so happily live there for ever. It's the funnest most inspiring city. I loved getting to know it a little better this time.

All photos were taken with my new 30th Birthday pressie the Fujifilm X100 - which I'm still getting to grips with, but as a beautiful small camera I was really pleased with the results.
